SONYA DEARIEN

BSN, RN, CLCP

Sonya Dearien is the co-founder of Lex Fidelis Consulting, providing medical-legal consulting services to law firms, insurance carriers, and risk management professionals. A Registered Nurse, Legal Nurse Consultant, and Certified Life Care Planner, she brings more than two decades of experience across clinical care, insurance defense, and complex litigation.

Her background includes bedside nursing, psychiatric care, insurance claims work, and senior litigation leadership, giving her a practical understanding of how medical facts affect liability, damages, and case outcomes. Sonya has consulted on matters involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, toxic torts, and mass-tort litigation, including medical oversight for more than 70,000 Camp Lejeune claims.

Sonya is known for clear, disciplined analysis and a collaborative working style. She prepares medical chronologies, standard-of-care evaluations, life care plans, and cost projections that are accurate, well-supported, and usable by both legal and claims teams. Her work is intentionally neutral and grounded in the record, helping clients evaluate exposure, manage risk, and make informed decisions.

OLIVIA BAKER

JD, BSN, RN

Olivia Baker is the co-founder of Lex Fidelis Consulting. She holds a Juris Doctor alongside her BSN and RN licensure, a credential combination that shapes every aspect of her approach to medical-legal work.

Her clinical background spans bedside nursing, VA healthcare systems, home health, and school-based care. Her legal training means she understands not just what the records say, but also how they will be used in filings, depositions, expert briefings, and at trial. That dual vantage point is not incidental to her work at Lex Fidelis. It is the work.

Olivia has supported mass tort and complex litigation matters, working with attorneys, medical experts, and case teams to develop clinical analyses that withstand scrutiny. She has contributed to large-scale case management efforts and the development of internal systems and workflows that improve analytical consistency across high-volume dockets.

She produces medical chronologies, case summaries, standard-of-care analyses, and work product structured for litigation from the first draft, ensuring accuracy, support, and readiness for the scrutiny that follows.

She specializes in Utilization Review and medical malpractice case analysis, with intensive experience in mass tort litigation. She brings a unique blend of clinical insight and strategic expertise to complex healthcare and legal challenges.
